HIMSS NCA is the only federally focused chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and is based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. We are formally known as the National Capital Area (NCA) chapter. Our chapter currently consists of over 1,000 members who are passionate about health information management and the technologies that drive health information technology innovation. The National Capital Area Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS NCA) has a diverse membership spread throughout Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, and nationwide. Our members represent hospitals, managed care organizations, vendors, integrated delivery systems, academia, non-profit healthcare organizations, as well as government agencies such as the Military Health System, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Health & Human Services, and other federal agencies with a healthcare focus.

In anticipation of HIMSS Global Health Equity Week, the HIMSS NCA Chapter is pleased to provide our members an opportunity to join Mary’s Center for a special free registration event on October 14th. Mary’s Center headquartered in Washington DC metro area has been a HIMSSS NCA chapter Charity awardee the past two years for it’s outstanding support of maternal and child health initiatives and addressing health equity needs in the community. Mary’s Center’s is hosting an upcoming unGala on October 14th and will kick off with a roundtable conversation featuring two distinguished guests shaping our nation’s health and education policy: the U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra and the U.S. Department of Education Secretary Miguel Cardona. This important roundtable conversation, moderated by CNN journalist Lisa Ling, will explore the intersection of health and education to develop stronger, healthier communities.

Proceed to the parking garage adjacent to our building and park in any “LMI” marked space. Using the elevators in the garage, select level T and enter the building on the Terrace level. This entrance is on the backside of the building (rather than the front, which is what you drive by when you first drive into the building complex). Once inside the building, the LMI reception area will be directly in front of you. You will need a valid government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport) to check-in. After the receptionist provides you with a visitor badge, you will be escorted to the meeting.
